Overcoming Supplier Delays to Open School On Time
Infinity Charter School turned to Capital Construction Management to serve as its owner’s representative for the construction of its new facility in Harrisburg, PA. When the supplier of the structural precast concrete informed the general contractor that the materials would be late, it threatened to delay the move-in of the school by several months. CCM worked with the construction team to redesign effected systems and re-phase the sequence of construction activities to reduce the impact to the schedule.
The new school is comprised of 23,000 square feet of new construction connected to a 4,000-square-foot existing building that was renovated. It features 15 classrooms, a playground, and a pavilion for outdoor learning. CCM provided the expertise needed to maintain the project’s aggressive schedule and ensure that the building was ready for occupancy when the fall 2017 school term began.
